The young pianist Justus Franz bought the House musicians and 50 acres of land in 1971. Today farm Justus Frantz is surrounded by tropical gardens, vineyards, Palm trees and plantations of mango, avocado and orange. Along with the well-known winemakers Franz began to experiment with wine 15 years ago, more and more different varieties of grapes, hybridization and pressing to achieve spectacular results.

Why start making wine somewhere so unlikely above Playa del Inglés, where 30 years ago there were only desert? Justus Frantz discovered descriptions of the menus in the ancient books that reveal the great wines of Gran Canaria were served in European royal houses in the 18th and 19th centuries and even in the historic Congress of Vienna.

Tragically phylloxera destroyed this tradition, but today Justus Frantz is reviving it. Our wines compare favorably with the famous French castles like Rothschild wines.

Justus Frantz cultivates grapefruit, oranges, avocados, mangoes, coffee and seven varieties of lemon. Our local produce includes delicious cheeses from our sheep and goats. We bake fresh bread in our wood-fired oven and soon guests will enjoy our own olive oil.
